Of Katydids, Crickets, Cicadas and Soundtracks

I'd been hearing quite a plethora of katydids, cicadas and even crickets this month, but now it seems the katydids and cicadas are almost done for the season. I've also seen quite a few of each, but the cicadas definitely sound like rattles while crickets tend to chirp more melodically. Has anyone else ever heard and/or seen crickets, cicadas or katydids?
